Using color paper for print jobs has hidden advantages. It is often assumed that all print jobs start with white or off-white paper and large areas of ink are applied to create the desired all-over color effect. Whenever possible, we recommend using color paper instead.
White paper with large areas of ink coverage is vulnerable to a variety of evils over time - cracking, chipping. fissures, fingerprints etc. it's just not that durable. This is especially true for dark colors - gray, black, blue and so on. Color paper is much more forgiving - tear it, and you'll find it's color-permeated. Beat it up, and it still looks sharp. There's a sense that not just the surface design was considered, but the complete material it's printed on as well.
Using color paper requires some expertise - there are tricks to using it to its potential. Color paper lends itself to opaque printing methods like metallic ink or foil stamping. It's also rather economical - turn a one-color print job into a two-color print job simply by using a color paper!
